During the first two weeks of May, there was one report of a purse theft. Unfortunately, its another case of somebody taking advantage of the owner having left their bag unattended while popping to the bar or the dancefloor.

During the month of April there were two reported purse thefts. Both reports are from Royal Hampshire County Hospital and both appear to be the work of opportunists. Staff and patients alike are advised to make sure doors are locked when they should be, and that their belongings are kept safe at all times.
Town centre purse thefts are being kept at a minimum and we would like to say a big thank you to the weather for making our presence in the centre even more enjoyable!

You said: ASB - This is connected to noise complaints and ASB reports throughout the day and evening, which includes drunkeness. This priority is now to include Criminal Damage incidents.

We did: The amount of ASB in the Town Centre associated with late night revellers from clubs and pubs has reduced. Officers are still working closely with Licences Premises with a view to making sure things are nipped in the bud early on if there are persons causing or likely to cause problems.
One of our main issues at present in the Town Centre is a homeless male who is often at the source of Anti Social Behaviour. This offender has recently been arrested and when he attends Court, we will be seeking an Anti Social Behaviour Order against him.
