Winchester is the ancient capital of Wessex, a county town of Hampshire and it’s the burial place of many of England’s Kings, Queens, Saints and famous people such as Jane Austen, Izacc Walton and Keats.
Here the rule of Common Law was established, the Domesday book compiled, and the Winchester Bible was written.
Winchester attracts a large amount of tourists with it's Cathedral, Castle ruins, Military Museum and King Arthur's Round table.
Winchester is a unique heritage city just a hour south west of London, with a magnificent Cathedral, award winning pubs and restaurants and a tempting array of independent shops, all surrounded by fabulous rolling countryside and numerous villages. It is a very small and concentrated city centre when compared to other city centres, however with the close links of the shops, pubs and CCTV there are significantly increased chances of the apprehension of offenders.
