The district commander for Havant is Chief Inspector Alison Heydari. She took up this post in January 2012.

Havant district is divided in to 4 sectors, each headed by an Inspector.

  • Waterlooville – Inspector Sally Terry
  • Leigh Park – Inspector Mick Cotterill
  • Havant – Inspector Rob Mitchell

The district is served by 24 hour emergency response teams from Havant and Waterlooville police stations, and 11 Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNTs) across the four sectors.

The SNTs are made up of a sergeant, constables and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs). Their main role is to engage with their communities and work with partners to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour, providing long term solutions to the community’s problems.

Each SNT has its own priorities based on what local people have asked police to focus on, however all of Havant district is committed to:

  • Reducing violent crime, particularly domestic abuse
  • Combating anti-social behaviour
  • Tackling alcohol and drug-related crime

The team of officers and staff in the district are committed both to reducing crime and to improving the quality of life for people in Havant and Waterlooville. We will continue to work closely with partner agencies and the local communities to ensure that we all prevent and detect crime, and that we address the local priorities that matter most to residents.

The district team will concentrate on, and robustly deal with, the persistent offenders who blight the lives of those around them through their criminal acts or anti-social behaviour. Our aim is to ensure that Havant and Waterlooville is a district where crime is minimised and where people feel safe.
