If you would like to report an item of found property, please see below for further guidance.
Is the item you have found cash, identifiable or something that could contain personal data?
Items such as bank cards, driving licence, passport, medals, weapons, cash, phones, laptops, electronic tablets, cameras, and other data storing items cannot be retained by you as the finder. These must be brought in to one of our general enquiry offices. Please see our Visit a police station page.
Can the item be claimed?
Such items listed above will not be eligible to be claimed by you as the finder. Cash however may be claimed after 28 days if the owner has not been traced.
How do we dispose of items that are unclaimed?
Hampshire Constabulary sell items that are either unclaimed or unreturned via the online auction site Bumblebee Auctions, which is available to the general public. The Bumblebee website is entirely separate from Hampshire Constabulary - we cannot therefore be held responsible for its content.
If your bid is successful, Bumblebee will contact you by email and request that you make payment for your item(s) online. Payment is required within 14 days of the auction closing. Once you have made your payment, you will receive a confirmation email from Bumblebee which includes details of where your item(s) can be collected from as well as the opening times and contact details of that location. Collection is required within 14 days of payment.
Please use the form below to report the item you have found. If it is an item we will record, you will be sent a reference number within 4 working days.
Any information that you submit via this form will be sent through non-secure means and will potentially be viewable by third parties. By using this form you agree that any information submitted is done so at your own risk.
