Police are asking for witnesses to come forward after three youths were robbed outside St Edmunds School, Arundel Street, Portsmouth.
Between 4pm and 5pm on Wednesday, August 13, three 15-year-old boys were walking back from shopping in Commercial Road, when they were approached by a group of six men.
The men threatened the youths and stole their shopping, which was two pairs of Nike tracksuit bottoms in a JD Sports bag, and also took £20 in cash from them.
The youths were not harmed during the incident.
The youths had seen the group of men earlier that day, where they were hanging around the Commercial Road shopping area.
The two main offenders are described as:
Man 1:
- Black
- 6ft 4ins tall
- Stocky build
- Between 17 and 19 years old
- Afro hair that was shaved
- Wearing a black hooded top and tracksuit bottoms, and a black baseball cap
Man 2:
- Black
- Around 5ft 10ins tall
- Medium build
- Afro hair in a short shaved style
- Wearing a black hooded top and either black tracksuit bottoms or jeans
There were also two other black men in the group, who were both wearing baseball caps, and two white men. The two white men were also wearing baseball caps and both had grey hooded tops on. One of the white men had quite long curly hair and wore multicoloured trainers.
PC Craig Turner said, “This was a very distressing incident and I’d appeal to anyone who may have seen the incident itself, or the group described. They were also seen earlier in the day in Commercial Road so if anyone thinks they recognise any of the descriptions please contact police.”
