CCTV image released of man sought after thefts from Basingstoke school
Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after several incidents at a Basingstoke schools.
Shortly after 8.30am on June 16, a man walked into Castle Hill Junior School and headed for the headteacher’s office.
Once inside, he took a wallet from a suit jacket which was hanging on the back of the door. He then went to the staff room and stole a purse from a handbag which was in the room.
About 10 minutes later, the man approached the receptionist at Winklebury Infant School and said he had a delivery for the school.
The receptionist escorted the man out of the building and showed him where to park. However he then left the site. The man then approached staff from the on-site nursery but was not allowed access to the nursery building.
The man is described as white, aged in his 40s, had a shaven head and was of medium build. He was about 5ft 5ins tall and was wearing black glasses, a dark-coloured zipped jacket, black trousers and dark-coloured shows.
PC Chris Pike said: “Do you recognise this man? If you have seen him acting suspiciously or know who he is, please contact me as soon as possible.”
