Detectives charge three people in connection with series of robberies in Liphook

 Detectives in Alton have charged two men and a 16-year-old girl in connection with a series of robberies in Liphook and Surrey.

This comes after officers from Hampshire Constabulary carried out two raids in the Liphook area on Friday, July 15.

Three people were arrested and an imitation firearm believed to have been used in the robberies has been recovered.

Liam Cannon, aged 20, of Fariway Close, Liphook, and Mathew Martell, aged 18, of Kiln Avenue, Haslemere, Surrey, have subsequently been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and firearms offences.

A 16-year-old girl from Liphook, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has also been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.

All three appeared at Alton magistrates court today and were remanded in custody to appear at Winchester Crown Court on August 1.

These charges have been made in connection with a series of robberies which have occurred in the Liphook and Surrey areas in recent weeks.

• Robbery at Top Chef Chinese Takeaway, Station Road, Liphook on July 6.
• Robbery of a woman as she was walking along Church Walk, Farncombe on July 11
• Robbery of a woman as she was walking along Midhurst Road in Liphook on July 11.
• Robbery of a man as he was walking along Midhurst Road in Liphook on July 14.
