Detectives in Aldershot have made an arrest in connection with an armed robbery at Tesco in the town.
At about 12.15pm on Wednesday, August 24, a Group 4 Securicor van was making a delivery of money to the cash machines at Tesco in Wellington Avenue.
The guards were approached by two men who both had their faces covered.
The guards were threatened by one of the men, who it is believed had a handgun. Both men then made off with a quantity of money, along the A325 towards Farnham, on a distinctive orange motorbike which is described as having a large fuel tank with stripes on the side.
A 40-year-old man from Farnborough has been arrested in connection with this incident and is currently in police custody.
Detectives are continuing to appeal for information about the distinctive orange motorbike, which has since been recovered.
Detective Sergeant Tim Ireson said: “I would like to hear from anyone who saw this orange motorbike in Aldershot or the surrounding areas before or after the robbery at Tesco yesterday.
“Equally, I would like to hear from anyone who was at the store at about midday who hasn’t yet spoken to a police officer.”
