Witnesses sought after Christmas presents stolen in Basingstoke burglary

Police are appealing for witnesses after children’s toys, games consoles, laptop computers and televisions were stolen from a house in Basingstoke.

Some time between 8.15pm on Friday, November 26 and 5.15am on Saturday, November 27, offenders broke into the house in Bennet Close.

Due to the size and number of items taken, officers believe the offenders would have had to use a large vehicle to transport the items or would have had to make more than one visit to the house.

PC David Cook from the Basingstoke Priority Crime Team, said: ”Every burglary is a terrible experience for victims but in this case the theft of children’s Christmas presents has made it even more difficult for the family to bear.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Cook at Basingstoke police station on 101 or call the charity Crimestoppers line anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Callers outside Hampshire and the Isle of Wight should use 0845 045 4545.
