Police in Basingstoke are appealing for information after three burglary incidents in Popley in a 24-hour period.
Sometime between 12.55am and 1.10am on Monday, August 22, offender(s) gained access to a house in Abbey Road via an open rear window.
Once inside they took a wallet containing a small amount of cash and bank cards. Between 2am and 6am on the same day, offender(s) gained entry to a house also in Abbey Road, via an unlocked front door. Once inside they took a handbag, bank cards and car keys.
Later that same day, between 2.50pm and 5pm, offender(s) attempted to break into a house in Selby Walk. Fortunately no access was gained and nothing was stolen.
PC David Cook said: “I would remind people make sure all windows and doors are locked or secured at all times. Even when you are at home, an open window or unlocked door is an invitation to a burglar.”
