Detectives in Basingstoke are appealing for witnesses after a purse, bank cards and a birth certificate were stolen from a house in Popley.
At about 9.30pm on Tuesday, August 30, two men entered a house in Tennyson Way, one of them holding what is believed to have been a handgun.
The men, who are described as mixed race and aged in their 20s, then demanded the occupants hand over drugs and cash. The occupants said they didn’t have anything and then men stole a gold and white leopard print purse, various bank cards and a birth certificate, before leaving the property.
Detective Constable Simon Quickfall said: “It is believed that this was a targeted incident, but fortunately no one was injured.
“I would like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious on Monday night or who has seen a discarded purse matching the description in the Popley area.”
