Operation Vermillion – Police appeal for witnesses after pedestrian seriously injured in Farnborough
Police are appealing for witnesses after man sustained serious injuries after there were three identical crashes on Minley Road, Farnborough.
At about 5.45am on Monday, January, a blue MG ZX driven by a 41-year-old man from Godalming, lost control of his vehicle and left the road.
The driver and passenger – a 59-year-old man and 21-year-old man respectively – from another vehicle then stopped to assist the driver of the MG.
However, the driver of yet another vehicle – a 41-year-old man from Farnborough - lost control of the blue Mazda 3 he was driving and collided with the two men who had stopped to help.
A short time afterwards, a 25-year-old man from Godalming, who was driving a Mitsubishi, also lost control and left the road.
It is believed that icy road conditions may have been a contributory factor in these incidents.
The 59-year-old man who stopped to help after the first crash sustained serious life threatening injuries and was taken to Frimley Park Hospital before being transferred to St George’s Hospital in London for further treatment.
All the other men sustained various injuries, which were not deemed life threatening.
