Police appeal for information after items stolen from a car in Basingstoke

Police in Basingstoke are appealing for information after a watch and a games console were stolen from a car parked outside a garage in Basingstoke.

At about 1.40am on Wednesday, May 25, a woman heard a noise outside her house in Pennine Way, Buckskin.

When she investigated she saw a man standing near her garage and a man in the back of her car – a blue Volvo SC90. She challenged them and they ran off along Pennine Way.

She then discovered that a silver bangle Dolce and Gabbana watch and a lime green Nintendo DS had been stolen.

The first man is described as white, of average height and medium build, and aged in his early 20s. He was wearing a navy blue hooded top.

The second man is described as white, shorter than the other man, and of average build. He was wearing a patterned red or orange hooded top with the hood up.

The men made off in a red Suzuki Alto Cruz car, which is believed to be a stolen vehicle.

PC Lee Bishop said: “I would like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the early hours of Wednesday or who has been offered these items for sale.”
