Police appeal for witnesses after indecent assault in Farnborough

Police are appealing for information after a teenage boy was indecently assaulted outside shops on Greatfield Road, in Farnborough.

Some time between 11.30am and 12pm on Wednesday, August 31, a man who is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol, indecently assaulted a 13-year-old boy by squeezing his bottom.

The man is described as a Nepalese man, aged in his late 20s, of a stocky build and about 5ft 4ins tall. He was wearing jeans, a dark-blue top and was carrying a bright pink rucksack.

PC Peter Nelder said: “This is a very rare incident which happened in broad daylight on a busy section of road outside a shop.

“I would appeal to anyone who witnesses this incident or who can remember seeing the man described, to contact me as soon as possible.”

Notes to editors – A 20-year-old man from Farnborough was arrested in connection with this incident. He has been released on bail until September 20, pending further enquiries.
