Police are appealing for information after a laptop was stolen from a house in Hook.
Some time between 10.45pm on Monday, September 12 and 6.45am on Tuesday, September 13, offender(s) have broken into a house in Newnham Road, Hook.
It is believed they gained entry by putting an arm through the cat flap and opening the door using the keys which were in the lock.
An Apple laptop, a Garmin runner running timer and the key from the lock were stolen.
The laptop contained the final part of a dissertation document which the victim – a 34-year-old woman - had been working on for some years. She is due to hand in the finished dissertation next week. Unfortunately the document had not been backed-up recently and so a significant amount of her work has been lost.
PC Andy Gibbs said: “The loss of this laptop is of huge significance to the victim.
“I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious overnight or who knows anything about the whereabouts of this laptop to contact me immediately.”
