Police appeal for witnesses after hay fire in Ropley

 Police are appealing for witnesses after a large stack of hay bales was set alight.

A member of the public noticed the fire at about 6.45pm on Tuesday, July 26, offenders set light to the hay bales which were in a field next to a farm in Brislands Lane.

All of the hay – which was used for feeding cattle – was destroyed as a result.

PC Peter Wilkinson said: “We are trying to trace two men who were seen in the area at the time of the fire.

“I would urge anyone who saw these men or has any information about the fire, to contact me as soon as possible.”
