Operation Elswick – Appeal for information after man dies following A27 crash in Havant

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal crash which happened at about 8.50pm on Thursday, March 17.

A 37-year-old man was driving a blue Ford Escort car westbound along the A27 at Havant when for unknown reasons it left the carriageway to the nearside and collided with a tree.

The man sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

PC Ian Skingsley, of Fratton Roads Policing Unit, said: “At this time we are unsure as to why the vehicle left the carriageway.

“I am appealing for witnesses that may have seen the crash or may have seen the vehicle travelling along the A27 prior to the crash.”
