Roy ElderfieldOperation Ramie – victim in Gosport collision named



 An elderly man who died following a collision in South Street, Gosport on Saturday (Oct 30) has been named as Roy Elderfield.

Mr Elderfield, 89, was crossing the road when he was in collision with a Mitsubishi 4x4, shortly before 1pm.

He was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital where he later died. Mr Elderfield had been married to Phyllis for 69 years and had lived in the Gosport area since 1941.

Mrs Elderfield said: “Roy served in the Royal Navy for 32 years with several postings including three years in Singapore and two and a half years in Malta. “He will be sadly missed by his wife, family and friends.”
