Operation Aba – Police name man who died in East Wellow crash

A man who died following a serious crash in East Wellow on Sunday (February 20) morning has been named by police.

Jason Bates, of West Wellow, was driving a silver BMW 318 on the A3090 at East Wellow, near to the junction with Ridge Lane, at about 7.20am.

For reasons unknown, the car left the road and collided with a tree.Mr Bates, aged 29, died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Officers from Totton Roads Policing Unit are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to get in touch.
