Police appeal for witnesses after man dies in Basingstoke crash

Officers from the Roads Policing Unit are appealing for witnesses following a fatal car crash in Basingstoke.

Police were called to Ringway South just before the Black Dam Roundabout shortly before 10am today (Saturday, June 25) following reports of a single vehicle crash.

A silver Fiat Punto car left the road for reasons unknown and collided with a lamppost.

The driver of the car, a 23-year-old man from Basingstoke, suffered serious injuries and was taken to North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke where he later died.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw the incident or saw the car immediately before it happened to get in touch.
