Police appeal for information about Basingstoke burglaries

Police are appealing for information following two burglaries which took place in Basingstoke over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Some time between 10.30am and 4.30pm on Friday, April 29 – the day of the Royal Wedding – offender(s) broke into a house in Cranbourne Lane, Basingstoke.

A small gold prayer ingot figurine was stolen.

On Sunday, May 1, the residents of a house in Corinthian Close, Basingstoke, returned home after a weekend away to find that the house had been burgled.

Four laptops, a digital camera and gold jewellery were stolen.

Officers from the Basingstoke priority crime unit are keen to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or who has been offered any of these items for sale.

PC Jon Hayes said: “There are similarities between these incidents and we are investigating whether they may be linked.”
