Detectives appeal for witnesses after arson in Aldershot

Detectives in Aldershot are appealing for witnesses after an arson attack in the North Town area.

Some time between 7pm and 8.45pm on Monday, May 23, there was a fire which caused considerable damage to a shed and fencing in the area of South Walk.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area of South Walk or inside the First Wessex demolition site in Denmark Square.

Detective Constable Matthew Dennis said: “There would have been lots of people in this area at this time so I would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact me.”

Notes to editors –
A 15-year-old girl, a 13-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy – all from Aldershot – were arrested on suspicion of arson. They have all been bailed until July 14.
