Detectives in Aldershot are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured following an assault outside a hotel in the town.

There was an altercation and the victim ran out of the pub and along Victoria Road towards Barrack Road.

The men caught up with him as he reached The Alexandra Hotel on Barrack Road, and assaulted him.

The victim sustained slash wounds to his right hip and cuts to his head, all of which required stitches.

Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen this attack taking place.

Detective Constable Gavin Whyte said: “This was a nasty attack in which the victim sustained serious injuries.
