Operation Elswick – Man who died in A27 crash named

Police have released the name of a man who died following a crash on the A27 at Havant.

Stephen Dent was travelling westbound along the A27 at about 8.50pm on Thursday, March 17, when for an unknown reason the Ford Escort he was driving, left the carriageway to the nearside and collided with a tree.

The 37-year-old, of Aylesbury Road, Portsmouth, sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

PC Ian Skingsley, of Fratton Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the crash or may have seen the vehicle travelling along the A27 prior to the crash.”
