Youth charged after shop worker injured in Portsmouth

Police have charged a youth after an incident where a shop worker was injured in Portsmouth.

At some time between 11.10am and 11.20am on Saturday, January 30, shop staff at the Nike store in Gunwharf Quays suspected that a man had left with an item he had not paid for and challenged him.

An altercation followed, during which one of the staff members received a cut to his arm.

A 17-year-old from Portsmouth was arrested yesterday evening and charged with theft from a shop and possession of a knife. He will appear at Youth Court this morning (Wednesday, February 3).
