Detectives are appealing for information after an attempted robbery took place shortly before midnight on Friday, May 15.
At 11.50pm a 27-year-old man from Fareham was walking down Napier Road in Southsea, towards a friend’s house.
He was approached by two men. One of the men stopped him and demanded his car keys.
The lone man refused, and was then grabbed from behind. One of the pair threw a punch at the man but missed, before they both walked off.
The men are described as:
Man 1:
- White
- 6ft tall
- Slim build
- Pale complexion and gaunt face
- Bright ginger hair which was wavy and looked messy
- Ginger moustache
- Wearing a blue and white horizontally striped t-shirt and pale coloured tracksuit bottoms
Man 2:
- White
- 5ft 8ins tall
- Slim build (though not as slim as Man 1)
- Wearing dark trousers with a dark hooded top, with the hood pulled up
Detective Constable Dave Higgins said, “Though these men did not obtain anything from the person they approached they clearly intended to do so, and it is important that we identify them as soon as possible, so if you have any information please contact police immediately.”
