Witnesses sought following attempted robbery in Andover

Police are appealing for information following an attempted robbery in Andover last Monday evening (January 16).

The incident happened as the victim, a 33-year-old local man, was walking in an alleyway between Eastfield Close and Woodlands Way at about 5.40pm.

As he walked he was approached by two men who demanded his belongings from him. The two men are described as:

  • The first was Asian
  • Aged 17-20 years old
  • 5ft 6-7ins tall
  • Medium build
  • Clean shaven
  • Wearing a black shell suit with the hood up.

The second was:

  • White
  • Aged 17-20 years old
  • 5ft 6-7ins tall
  • Smaller build than the first
  • With dark stubble
  • A hooded top with thick striped horizontal stripes possibly cream or grey coloured and the hood was a lighter colour and blue jeans.

The victim was not hurt and didn’t have anything taken from him.

PC Ashley Whitlock said: “This incident happened in the early evening when members of the public may have been travelling home after work and may have seen the incident happen or people matching the description walking away from the area.”
