Police are making an appeal for witnesses after an incident where a teenager was robbed at knifepoint on Monday, October 24.
At around 8.45pm, the 16-year-old boy was walking through Palmerston Park in the city centre, heading in the direction of Guildhall Square.
A man appeared in front of the boy and was holding a knife. He demanded the boy’s possessions, and the boy handed over his wallet, before the man ran off towards Hoglands Park.
The wallet was blue and from French Connection, it contained £60.
The man is described as:
- White
- Between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall
- Stocky build
- Wearing a black hooded cotton tracksuit top with a white Nike tick logo on the front, and the hood pulled tightly around his face
Detective Constable Simon Bembridge said, “We are looking to speak to anyone who may have seen this incident, which took place near to the stone circle in Palmerston Park. The boy was not harmed, but he was threatened with a knife which had a thick black handle and a blade of around six inches in length, which was very frightening.
“I would advise people to avoid walking through dimly lit park areas at night, and try not to travel on your own where possible.”
