Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a 14-year-old boy was hit by a passing vehicle which failed to stop on Friday, May 1.

At around 3.20pm, the boy was walking from school towards his home address in the Portsea area.

As he walked along St Marys Road, he passed in front of the entrance to St Mary’s house. A car came out of the entrance and collided with the boy, knocking him to the ground.

The car then turned up the road and continued on its way. It was a small green car, driven by a man aged in his 30s with brown hair.

The boy was badly shaken by the incident, but was not injured.

PC Paul Barrett, investigating the incident, said, “I am looking to speak to anyone who saw this incident, or perhaps can identify the car or the driver involved. The car was driving at a relatively low speed and it is fortunate the boy was not injured; however this could have been much more serious. If you think you can help in any way please contact me.”

Can you help?
