Witnesses sought after Portsmouth hit and run

Police are appealing for information following a hit and run in Portsmouth.

The incident happened shortly after 3am on Sunday as the victim, an 18-year-old Portsmouth man, walked across Holbrook Road.

As he crossed, the pedestrian was struck by a white Volkswagen estate which then failed to stop at the scene.

The victim sustained two minor fractures to his skull which on arrival at Queen Alexandra Hospital were deemed not to be life threatening.

He is now recovering at home.
