Witness appeal after serious crash on A327 near Warren Heath, Eversley

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was seriously injured following a three-vehicle collision on the A327 near Eversley.

The crash happened at about 11.15am on Wednesday, May 19, near to the junction with the Bramshill Quarry entrance, near Warren Heath, Eversley.

A dark grey Audi TT, driven by a 27-year-old man from Milton Keynes, was travelling north towards Eversley, when it collided with a black 7.5 tonne Mercedes lorry and a green Ford Mondeo estate.

The lorry, driven by a 40-year-old man from Reading, and the Mondeo, driven by a 58-year-old woman from Wokingham, were both travelling in the opposite direction.

As a result of the collision the driver of the Mondeo suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital where she remains in a critical condition. The lorry driver was uninjured.

The driver of the Audi received minor injuries and taken to Frimley Park Hospital. He was subsequently arrested on the suspicion of dangerous driving and is currently helping police officers with their enquiries.

The road was closed for nearly six hours to allow officers from the Road Death Investigation Team to carry out a full investigation.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw the incident or who may have seen any of the vehicles before the crash.
