Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a number of assaults at a Southampton bar in the early hours of Wednesday, July 22.
The assaults are all believed to have happened between 12.45am and 1am in or just outside the 90 Degrees bar in Lower Banister Street. In the worst of the assaults, which occurred outside the club, a 23-year-old man ended up with a broken jaw after being hit by another man. He had to undergo surgery at Southampton General Hospital and had been on a night out with friends when the attack happened.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who saw the assault to get in touch and are also appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any of the other incidents which occurred around the same time.
One assault by a white man on a white woman, also happened outside the club. A 22-year-old man has been arrested and bailed until the end of September in connection with this incident while enquiries continue.
Another incident involved an assault by a man on another man inside 90 degrees and a further assault occurred on an 18-year-old woman inside the club who had a bottle smashed on the back of her head by an unknown person as she walked past the bar.
Anyone who has any information about any of the assaults or saw any of what happened is asked to contact Detective Constable Heather Engley at Shirley CID on 0845 045 45 45 or call Crimestoppers, the charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
At this time none of these incidents are thought to be directly connected and are being treated as separate incidents.
