Police in Southampton are appealing for witnesses after a 43-year-old man was attacked by a group of men as he walked past the Percy Arms pub in Commercial Street in Bitterne.
The victim had been walking across the car park area on the evening of Wednesday 10th December when he was attacked. As he did so he noticed a black Ford Mondeo style car from which four men got out.
The victim was then punched and kicked to floor where the attack continued for several minutes.
One of the attackers is described as: Black, in his mid-twenties, around 6ft 2ins tall, stocky build and with long black dreadlocks going all the way down his back.
The attack was reported a short time later when the victim got home and told a neighbour about what had happened. He later went to hospital to be checked over but was luckily not seriously hurt. It’s not known why the victim was attacked.
Detectives are now appealing for witnesses who saw what happened or anyone who may know who carried out the assault.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Constable Wendy Rogers at the Southampton Public Protection Team based at Shirley Police Station on 0845 045 45 45 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
