Witness appeal after burglary in Portsmouth

Police are appealing for information after a burglary at a house in Lichfield Road, Portsmouth.

Between 10.45am and 3.45pm on Monday, October 5, the property was entered by forcing open the front door, before a search of the rooms inside.

A number of items were stolen from the house (listed below), which are thought to be worth around £7500 in total:

  • Two iPods (one black, one silver and blue)
  • Bose headphones
  • Bose docking station
  • Sony camcorder
  • Three cameras (Canon EOS digital camera, two silver Olympus digital cameras)
  • Armani sunglasses and case
  • Toshiba laptop
  • GHD straightening irons
  • Nintendo Wii
  • Samsung mobile phone
  • Various items of silver jewellery
  • Two watches

PC David Freeman said, “There was a large amount of property stolen during this incident, and some of the items taken contain treasured family photographs and video footage, the loss of which has left the family utterly distraught.

“I would appeal for anyone who can provide us with information relating to this burglary to get in touch – have you been offered items like these for sale at a reduced price? Perhaps you noticed someone acting suspiciously in the area, or saw someone carrying large bags of goods or items like those stolen. If you think you can help please contact us.”
