The investigation into a crash in Steep, near Petersfield, is continuing tonight with the police, fire service and air accident investigators still on scene.
The alarm was raised at 12.32pm today when a person walking their dog reported that a light aircraft had crashed into woodland.
The plane was a private aircraft, and was flying from Hertfordshire to Jersey (please note that the plane was not travelling from London, as was originally reported).
The man and woman on board were both confirmed dead at the scene. The identification of the two people who died has not yet been confirmed.
Work will be continuing on scene tonight, and on into tomorrow.
