Update re Operation Installation – man arrested following serious crash in Southampton


Police have arrested one man in relation to a serious crash which took place early this morning on The Avenue, Southampton.

At 5am there was a head on collision involving two cars; a Mondeo and a Peugeot 206.

The man driving the Mondeo was the only occupant of the vehicle, and was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment to minor injuries sustained during the crash.

There were four people in the Peugeot; two men and two women. One received minor injuries and three received serious injuries. All four were taken to Southampton General Hospital.

A 48-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and causing grievous bodily harm. He is currently still in custody.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to call the Roads Policing Unit at Totton police station on 0845 045 4545 quoting Operation Installation.
