Updated advice to motorists regarding retrieval of vehicles on the A3 and A3M

We have now arranged for all the stranded vehicles to be recovered by recovery agencies, as this is the safest way forward given the current icy conditions.

Due to the exceptional circumstances of this particular police-led operation, the normal recovery and storage fee will be paid for by the Highways Agency. The cars will need to be collected by 9am on Saturday, January 9th, when the paid-for storage fee period ends. Thereafter, a storage fee of £20 per day will commence.

Those who need to recover their vehicles can arrange to collect them by calling FMG, the company dealing with this on behalf of the Highways Agency, on: 0844 243 8588.

This for vehicles on the A3 and A3M only.
