Update on Operation Savannah - Investigation after body discovered in Southampton

Police investigating after the body of a man was discovered in a stream in Southampton say a post mortem carried out this afternoon was inconclusive.
This means further investigative work will be carried out by detectives to try and establish what exactly happened to the man and to see if the death is suspicious. At this stage it’s not known.
The body was discovered early evening by a dog walker in a stream in an area of woodland off Coxford Road, Shirley on Tuesday, July 20.
The area remains sealed off in order for the investigation to continue.The body had been in situ for some time. It’s not known who the man is.
