Three arrested after stabbing in Southampton

Three people have been arrested and are currently in police custody after an incident where two men received stab wounds, on February 20.

Between 7.30pm and 9pm, an altercation occurred between two groups of people in Derby Road, Southampton, during which two men received stab wounds.

Both the injured men were taken to Southampton General hospital and are continuing to receive treatment for their injuries, which are not life threatening. One man is in a serious but stable condition.

A 28-year-old man from London, a 23-year-old man from Southampton and a 25-year-old man, also from Southampton, have all been arrested and are currently in police custody.

Inspector Chris Kirby said, “I would like to reassure the community that incidents such as these are a rare occurrence and we are carrying out extensive enquiries. As such, we are appealing for anyone who may have information on what took place last night to contact us immediately.

“Two men received serious injuries and are currently being treated in hospital. We take a very strong stance against knife crime of any kind, and we have a dedicated team of officers with specialist skills who are working on this enquiry. If anyone thinks they may be able to help I would urge them to call the police, as even the smallest piece of information may prove vital.”
