As a result of the snowfall overnight, the Basingstoke ringroad, particularly around A33 Crockford Lane roundabout northbound are experiencing high volumes of very slow moving traffic.
The A325 from Bordon to the A3 is also very slow moving.
The A325 at the Ham Barn roundabout is shut north and southbound because of a number of cars currently blocking the road. Gritters are trying to get there, but the cars blocking the road are making passage very difficult.
The A31 Four Marks northbound is currently shut because cars cannot get up the hill, but there is a snow plough and gritters at the scene trying to alleviate that quickly. A31 southbound at the same location is very slow moving. T
he B3006 is treacherous and should be avoided at all possible.
The A272 between Petersfield and Winchester is slow moving and difficult to pass.
The advice on all of these roads is please avoid if at all possible at this time, and delay your journey by a couple of hours to let the current traffic subside and roads clear.
All the side roads and B roads around the north and east of the county are particularly difficult to pass and should be avoided at this time.
All major routes and motorways are running quite freely with no particular problems.
If you’re stuck in traffic, please bear with us. The Highways Agency is doing its best to clear the roads and working at maximum capacity but it may take some time yet.
We will update you with further information as soon as we have it.
