Portsmouth Police to hold free summer event for members of the public

This Thursday the Charles Dickens East Safer Neighbourhoods team (SNT) will be holding their second annual Armed Forces and Emergency Services Community Day.
The event, which is completely free, is being held at Arundel Court School in Northam Street, Landport, and will have something for everyone.
PC Mark Gray from the Charles Dickens East SNT said: “We ran this event in 2009 and it was a roaring success, so we’ve decided to run it again this year. There will be a large variety of exciting guests attending, with some impressive vehicles on show.”
Special guests will include the police dog and firearms units, the Territorial Army, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, to name but a few.
The event is running as part of Hampshire Constabulary’s Summer Anti-Social Behaviour Campaign, and is a great opportunity for children and adults alike to learn more about the emergency services and armed forces.
The Charles Dickens East SNT will also be on site to speak to members of the public about any issues they wish to discuss, as well as to help youngsters learn more about the police.
The Armed Forces and Emergency Service Day will be held on Thursday, August 12, from 10am until 3pm. All money raised on the day will go towards to the
‘Help for Heroes’ charity.
