Police are searching an area of Southampton after a man was stabbed this afternoon, Thursday January 8, in Shirley at around 3.20pm.
The 18-year-old was walking along Romsey Road near to the Ordnance Survey building when he was stabbed in the shoulder.
Police have had to close off one lane of Romsey Road around where it happened as a result. Officers are also carrying out a search in the area for the youth who carried out the attack.
The youth is said to have an olive complexion and was wearing camel coloured trousers and a bright blue base ball cap. He also had facial hair and spots and is around 5ft 10ins tall.
Police are asking anyone who sees him or knows who he is to contact them immediately on 999 and not to approach him themsleves. The youth was last seen heading in the direction of Tebourba Way.
The victim has been taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.
