Police are releasing an efit image of a man they want to identify after a man was attacked late at night on Thursday, March 5.
At 11.09pm, a 51-year-old local man was making his way home after buying a bottle of wine from Tesco on Crasswell Street.
He walked through the underpass which connects Lake Road with Commercial Road. When he was about halfway through he was stopped by a group of three men.
One of the group demanded money, and when the man said no the three men pulled the man to the floor and began kicking him, before they all ran off.
Nothing was stolen from the man, but he received bruising to his legs and face, and a cut above his eye.
One of the men in the group is described as:
- White
- Around 18 years old
- 5ft 11ins tall
- Shoulder length dark brown hair
- Wearing a dark blue hooded jumper, black jeans and white trainers
The two other men in the group are both described as white, one wearing a blue hooded jumper and the other wearing a red hooded jumper.
Detective Constable Rachael Kensett said, “This was a shocking incident and I am hoping that by releasing this image we may be able to iidentify one of the men responsible. If you think you know this man or may have seen him please contact me as soon as possible, as your call may prove vital to this investigation.”
