Police release efit following attempted burglary in Southsea

Efit of man from Southsea attempted burglary Police are appealing for information following an attempted burglary in Southsea.

At around 11.30pm on Saturday, November 7 the victim, who is in his early 40s, was at home at an address on Victoria Road South, Southsea when he disturbed a man attempting to gain entry to the back door of this house.  The victim then shouted at him to go away and the man ran off.


Police have a description of the man they want to speak to. 

He is described as:

• White
• Aged around 18
• Around 6ft
• Muscular build
• Short brown curly hair
• Wearing a blue long sleeved top with white horizontal stripes across it

PC Alex Saccoccio, said: “We haveissued an efit of the man who attempted to gain entry to the house on Victoria Road South on Saturday, November 7 and are appealing for anyone who recognises this person to come forward and speak us.

“We believe that this incident could be linked to a burglary which occurred on Victoria Road South between Sunday, October 25 and Sunday, November 15.  Whilst inside the premises the offender/s took an antique carving set which is described as being 18” long and made from dark wood, featuring a floral engraved design and yellow metal.  The item houses a steel knife and two pronged fork which can be pulled out from each end. 

”I would appeal to anyone with any information about either of these incidents to come forward.”
