Police in Southampton have today, Monday, January 26, released an efit of a man who carried out an indecent assault in the Polygon area of the city.
A 21-year-old student was walking home from a night out at the Kaos nightclub at about 12.30am on Tuesday, January 13, when she was approached by a man in Henstead Road.
He briefly spoke to her and then around the area of it’s junction with Devonshire Road he then sexually assaulted her.
She fell to the ground during the attack and he ran off laughing into Devonshire Road heading towards Wilton Road. Two men came to her assistance.
Police are keen to trace the two men who they believe are vital witnesses. The victim has been left very shocked and upset by what has happened to her.
attacker is described as: Asian, around 5ft 7inches, 20s, slim build, short black curly hair which is shorter around the back and sides, strong Asian accent and clean shaven. He was wearing a waist length black leather jacket.
As part of their investigation they are now releasing an efit of the man thought to be responsible.
Officers are asking the two people who came to the victim’s assistance or anyone else with information about this crime to contact them.
They would also like to hear from anyone who thinks they recognise the man in the efit. They are asked to call Detective Constable Heather Engley at Shirley Police Station on 0845 045 45 45 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
