Police release CCTV of Break-in at a Southampton McDonalds
Press Releases
Published:
11/09/2008
Police investigating a break-in at a Southampton McDonalds are today releasing CCTV pictures of the men breaking in to the safe of the restaurant in Redbridge Road, Millbrook.
The three burglars used an angle grinder to get into the safe. They broke in about 2.45am on Monday, August 11 and since then police have been following up leads and looking into a possible connection with other similar break-ins at other commercial premises in the county.
They are now in a position to release CCTV showing the McDonalds break-in in the hope that people may be able to suggest who the men are or have information about what happened.
A total of £18,600 was taken during the break-in.
Detective Constable, Paul Lancaster said: “These criminals seemed to be well prepared and knew what they were doing. This wasn’t a chance break-in. They had obviously planned what they would do and were well organised.”
“I would urge anyone with information about what happened to contact me at Shirley CID on 0845 045 45 45 or call Crimestoppers, the charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
