Detectives in Portsmouth are appealing for a possible witness to come forward after a man was stabbed in Sandringham Road.
At around 4.45am on Saturday, September 13, three men went to a house trying to get into a party. An altercation broke out and several people were in the road outside of the house.
During the altercation a 37-year-old man from Fareham received three stab wounds, and was taken to Queen Alexandra hospital for treatment.
Shortly after the incident took place three of the men involved were seen on CCTV to enter the Lords Court building on Lords Street.
They are seen on internal CCTV to be stood in a hallway in the building, and seconds after they leave another man is seen to walk by, using his mobile phone.
It is thought this man may have passed by the group or seen them in the vicinity, and police are keen to make contact with him.
Detective Constable Marcus Mills said, “This man may have been returning home or visiting someone, and he passes the camera only a few seconds after the group do. This leads us to think that he may have seen or heard the group, or perhaps even spoken to them in passing. It is important we are able to locate this man to ascertain if he knows anything of any importance to this investigation, and so I would encourage him, or anyone who recognises him, to contact us immediately.”
A 21-year-old man from Portsmouth was arrested on suspicion of wounding and was bailed until January 9, 2009.
A 24-year-old man from Portsmouth was arrested on suspicion of wounding and has been released without charge.
