Police name man who died after assault in Portsmouth

Officers investigating the death of a man who was assaulted in Portsmouth are now in a position to release his name.

Kyle Bartlett, 21, was injured during an altercation at the Walkabout pub on Guildhall Walk on Tuesday, May 5.

He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham, where he died on the evening of Wednesday, May 6.

Kyle worked as a member of the Royal Navy, as an Engineering Technician (Marine Engineering). His title was ET (ME) Kyle Bartlett.

A post mortem examination is due to take place today.

Police have arrested a total of five men in relation to the incident. A 22-year-old man has now been released without charge. Three 21-year-old men and a 26-year-old man are all being held on suspicion of murder.
