Police are issuing witness appeals following a number of burglaries in the same area of East Hampshire.
Several have occurred in the area of Headley Road, Grayshott over the last few weeks: The first happened on Monday November 7, at Headley Road between 11pm and 5am. It’s thought someone broke into the house by reaching a key in the back door, possibly through the cat flap. Cameras, a purse, cash and debit cards were taken.
On the same evening in Headley Road, two non-dwelling burglaries also occurred:a window was smashed at a florist’s, cash was taken from the till. In addition, at the British Legion Club someone got in through an unlocked window-poppy collection boxes were stolen
Then on November 8, between 6.15 and 6.30pm there was a burglary at Honeysuckle Lane, Headley. A handbag and purse was taken.
Between 2pm on the 8th and 6pm on November 9, there was a burglary at Mill Lane, Headley. A rear window was smashed but entry was not gained and nothing stolen
On November 16 between 10am and 1.30pm at Beech Hill, a rear window of a property was smashed. An alarm was activated and nothing was stolen.
Sergeant Phil Shore from the Priority Crime Team at Alton police station said: “This spate of burglaries is concerning and we are doing all we can to trace the person or persons responsible.
“I’d like to appeal to the public to report anything suspicious to us and to those living in this area, please be aware of home security.
“We’d advise you not to leave keys in doors and to lock windows and doors even when you are at home."
