Police are warning people to keep their mopeds and off-road bikes stored securely after a spate of thefts from garages and sheds in the Yateley area.
In a recent incident, a pink moped was stolen from Mitchell Buildings, off Monteagle Lane, in Yateley. The moped is thought to have been stolen at about 6pm on January 26.
Then, shortly before 8.30pm, it was seen being pushed then ridden in Connaught Close by two boys and a girl. It was then seen on School Lane by police officers and pursued along School Lane and Kingfisher Close, where it was ridden off-road and crashed in an alleyway.
The people on the moped then made off towards Selwyn Drive and despite an extensive search by officers and a dog unit, the offenders were not found.
The offenders are all thought to be aged between 15 and 16. The two boys were wearing black hooded tops and jeans and the girl was wearing a black body warmer, black leggings, a white top and Ugg-style boots. She is described as of a skinny build and had long black hair.
PC Geoffrey Hill said: “I would appeal for anyone who saw this distinctive pink moped to contact me.
“Equally I would like to take this opportunity to remind people to make sure their mopeds and off-road bikes are stored securely and even alarmed if possible.
“When we have taken reports of this kind of incident, it seems people have heard noises and even seen suspicious people but not reported it. Please call us if you see any suspicious behaviour, no matter how minor you think it may be.”
