Police in Portsmouth investigating indecent chanting at a football match have re issued pictures of sixteen people they would like to speak to.
The investigation follows abuse directed at Portsmouth Football Club player Sol Campbell during a game against Tottenham on Sunday, September 28, 2008.
Police are now asking for the public’s help in identifying the remaining five people pictured. The images were captured during the match by a police officer.
Superintendent Neil Sherrington said: “As part of our investigation into indecent chanting at Fratton Park, we identified sixteen people we wanted to speak to.
"We have had an excellent response to the first set of pictures, however these five men still remain outstanding and we are keen to identify them as soon as possible.
“We want to send a clear message that abuse of this kind will not be tolerated and that we are taking robust action.”
He added: “I’d urge anyone who recognises these people to contact us as soon as possible.”
